The past week, LinkedIn started rolling out "active status". With this step, LinkedIn and Microsoft take the step towards an interactive communication platform with over 500 million users.
In my case, creating new opportunities always starts with a personal conversation. I often start this conversation online and always continue it offline by making an appointment and starting a conversation. Timing and relevance are The building blocks For a good business relationship and important points to keep in mind. The LinkedIn inbox is similar to e-mail: you send a message and only know if it is read when you receive a reply to your message. To better enable timing and relevance, LinkedIn now introduces the "Active Status".
Creating opportunities always starts with a personal conversation.
The Active Status of LinkedIn is a new feature on the network site that you can take advantage of. By showing your active status to other LinkedIn users, you indicate that you are available to make a call. Chat and messaging are important features for network sites and therefore also for LinkedIn. After all, the more active users on your platform the more activities are performed.
Previously, LinkedIn has already customized the chat experience by specifying in the messages Inbox whether the recipient has read or seen your message. In your inbox you will see any user you communicate with or your contact is active on the LinkedIn platform. If you do not see a status, your contact person is not actively using this feature or is not active on the platform at that time.
By default, your active status is on. This is something we often see platforms do when they roll out a new feature. Deactivating your online status is simple and can be done In Settings, under privacy.
You can set your status to be seen on desktop and in the mobile app. You can Also select certain accounts that never see your active status.
If you are not active on the platform, but have activated your push notifications for the mobile app, your status will also be active, including green circle on your profile picture.
More information about LinkedIn new active status can be found on the LinkedIn Blog.
