2018, what did you go fast

20 December 2018
In a sigh you had turned around. At a speed that was impossible to keep up with. The older you get, the faster the year goes.

Earlier, as a little boy, the time was always slow. Not fast enough and everything took too long. Days, weeks I had to wait for my birthday. Years passed before it was Sinterklaas or Christmas. And now, now I blink with my eyes and the year is over. So quickly passed, so much done, in so little time.

I am proud of the projects we have carried out and completed together with our clients. We gave LinkedIn training courses where every employee got an all Star LinkedIn profile and we took care of sales trainings where we realised more opportunities for new business with the use of sales Navigator. With the commitment of our knowledge, CRM systems were implemented to communicate more transparently and gain more insight into customer processes. We brought knowledge, inspiration, new insights and humor. All with the aim to increase success in sales.

This year I celebrated my 42nd birthday At Kaan Dorp in Rotterdam Together with my wife and our youngest. A week before we went on holiday. The week before our holiday was busy, busy with appointments and nice conversations. Like every week for every holiday. But every week for our holidays there is something special. Also this summer and so also this week again.

The start of the summer holidays we celebrated with good friends during a nice evening at De limonadefabriek. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with nice conversations and a delightful, long evening. These evenings are to cherish, with precious moments where we have a lot of fun and have a long talk about it.

Our holiday went to Portugal. The first holiday with our family of five. The trip was fantastic. Portugal is a beautiful and special country, the people are friendly and kind. What makes them special is that they are open to conversation and speak the language of us as a tourist. Not only in terms of hospitality, but also literally in terms of language. Everyone in Portugal is educated at school in a multilingual language. This ensures that the Portuguese can be in contact with everyone, and that they are actually there. What a wonderful country is Portugal say!

In 2018 I did my best to give more attention to the word ' attention '. Attention is part of the Social Sales DNA. From the work with Social Sales, the starting point is always the DNA. . The DNA of you, your employer or organization and the DNA of your prospect and your client. DNA stands for Data, network and attention. Our vision is that with the available data, you can use your network optimally to give the right attention to who or what is important to you.

And precisely that attention is what I realized during our holiday in Portugal. There is attention to each other, one takes the time for you. What would it be nice to make time for each other and to really focus our attention on the people we want to be in contact with.

For that reason I want you to see this video. I have previously shared this via LinkedIn. The message in the video is about attention for the other, the unknown other. And that is what I did learn to appreciate this year. Don't be biased, don't think for another. Be open to everyone and accept the other.

I wish you, also on behalf of Ilona and the children, a Christmas with good and beautiful conversations, fun and cheerfulness and a good and healthy 2019.
